Heart Drug Sharpens Middle-Aged Minds

Geezer is trying to remember where he read about a drug that improves memory in middle-aged brains. Wait, it was the L.A. Times, and the drug was Fasudil, a vasodilator used in the treatment of heart disease and to improve outcomes in patients who have suffered a stroke. The newspaper reports on research conducted at the Arizona Alzheimer’s Consortium revealing that aging rats that were injected with the drug easily outperformed their non-injected peers on learning and memory tests.
