Geezer can’t remember the last time he’s read about such interesting research, but now at least he knows why he can’t remember: he’s been pigging out on some wonderfully rich chocolate brownies. What’s he talking about? The New York Times reports that researchers at the University of Münster in Germany studied the memory skills of people who ate low calorie diets for three months, and compared them to the memory skills of similar groups that did not restrict calorie intake. The Times reports that the calorie-restricted group averaged 20 percent improvement in memory
performance. The other groups showed no significant change.
