FDA: Avoid Hydroxycut Diet Supplements, Go Slow on Botox

The Obama administration has apparently told the FDA that their acronym no longer stands for Forgo Doing Anything. The agency is now warning people to stay away from
Hydroxycut, a widely sold supplement linked to cases of serious liver
damage and at least one death. The Food and Drug Administration
said the company that makes the dietary supplement, Iovate Health Services, has agreed to recall
14 Hydroxycut products, which are advertised as made from natural ingredients. Dr. Linda
Katz of the FDA’s food and nutrition division said the agency has
received 23 reports of liver problems, including the death of a
19-year-old boy living in the Southwest.
The recently awakened federal agency has also slapped a warning on Botox. An FDA press release  explains that the agency took the action because of reports that the
effects of the botulinum toxin may spread from the area of injection to
other areas of the body, causing symptoms similar to those of botulism,
including unexpected loss of strength or muscle weakness, hoarseness or
trouble talking, trouble saying words clearly, loss of bladder control,
trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, double vision, blurred vision
and drooping eyelids.

  1. Oh no, one death in about 2,000,000 users! Why don’t they run a study on the mortality rate of asprin? The FDA is a useless body. Absolutely useless.

  2. ? who ja work for

  3. Why the FDA even allows such crap to be sold is beyond me.

  4. I am beginning to really lose all faith and credibility in the FDA. It seems to me that instead of focusing their efforts on protecting the general public they are in-turn being influenced by corporate agenda and special interest. I take everything they say with a grain of salt.

  5. Putting chemicals in your system is never an answer to any problem. Fat is like fat you get from your hamburger pan,it melts and then you pour it out. Like you pour sweat out ofter heating it up… called sweat.
