Geezer remembers when celiac disease was so uncommon that there was no point in learning how to spell it. These days, he just wonders if it should be capitalized (no). Researchers at the Mayo Clinic report that the unpleasant immune system reaction to gluten is at least four times as common today as it was 50 years ago. Read the technical stuff in Gastroenterology. I’ve been thinking about celiac disease because a know one or two people with this. I am going to follow your links. I am curious as to whether our high consumption of processed grains is causing it.
Hi. I have celiac disease and I’m doing great! ! ! I’m now a young 50 yr old female, weight 115 lbs. Very active, show horses, etc.
My break through for celiac disease is I discovered that I’m an “O” blood type and most O’s are gluten sensitive!!! Since “O”‘s are meat eaters, we don’t do well on grains, its just that simple. Our colon reacts like horses if they eat too much grain – in horse terms “grain founder” which I might add, is one of the leading causes of death in horses! I eat the diet for “o” eating for your blood type and it works for me! I’m still very attractive for my age, I feel and am so grateful to God for giving me the cure regarding “Eating for your blood type”. So you ask what I eat, no beer cause it is made with grain mesh, no bread, no pizza, no corn, no potatoes. If you will notice, all these foods are very very acidic to your system and your blood – your body will hold losts of fluid, will make you hurt all over like your joints, knees, etc. I eat grilled chicken, salads, black eyed peas, green beans, carrotts, etc. I watch the apples because of the acid. No oranges for O’s, too much acid. O’s have so much acid in the blood already to breakdown meat, if you eat foods that contain too much acid, it will literally cook your insides. So next time, if any of you have acid reflux – that is the key symptom. You’ve eaten the wrong foods with too much acid like, grains, potatoes, beer, acohol, sugar (remember sugar turns to alcohol which burns your insides.) God bless you all and your journey!
These health articles interest me, as does the need for more interventions for people, which can help our nations health immensely.
