Geezer is pleased to report that scientists have discovered another reason to go back to bed. In a study that was recently published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, researchers at the University of Chicago Medical Medical Center tracked the sleeping habits of 495 people, ages 35 to 47, then looked at the incidence of artery calcification, measured by CT scans. The Washington Post reports that the researchers found that one more hour of sleep a
night decreased the risk of calcification by a third, or in other words, as
much as a 16.5-point reduction in blood pressure.
