When the Training Is the Competition

Good news for highly competitive people: now you can compete while training for the competition. Sounds a little like nibbling while preparing dinner, but in this case, you save money, instead of spending more to replace the food you just ate. The New York Times reports on the trend (which is how we know it’s a trend) in which several people hire a trainer to lead them through a routine. According to the Times, a survey by the IDEA Health and Fitness Association, an organization
for fitness professionals, showed that 71 percent of personal trainers
had two or more clients per session in 2005, up from 50 percent in
1999; 44 percent said they had groups of three to five clients, up from
43 percent nine years ago. Read more in the New York Times about how to compete while training, and save a few bucks at the same time.
