The Unhappy Truth about Happiness

Geezer has long ago abandoned hope of figuring out what women want, and now he’s having doubts about what some men want. Himself, for instance. That’s because he’s been reading about Harvard psychologist Daniel Gilbert’s conviction that people not only make errors in predicting what will make
them happy, they make the same errors over and over again. The Washington Post reports on Gilbert’s efforts, and, as a New Year’s kindness, passes along his Four Rules of Happiness:
Rule 1. Bingeing is bad, except when it isn’t.
Rule 2. Happiness often comes from what you don’t know.
Rule 3: Keeping your options open won’t necessarily make you happier.
Rule 4: The things you fear are not as bad as you think.
What does it all mean? Read more in the Washington Post.
