Pot May Improve Minds of Those with Alzheimer’s

Not another post about pot? Geezer wrote about athletes who use pot for muscle pain just last week. Now comes a report in the Scientific American suggesting that the not-exactly-legal herb can ward off Alzheimer’s and keep recall sharp. Sciam cites research conducted at Ohio State University that suggests that some chemical components  of marijuana reduce inflammation and stimulate the production of new brain cells, thereby enhancing memory. The researchers  have already devised a preliminary version of a THC-like synthetic drug that improves memory in lab animals, and they are working a suitable analog for use humans, albeit on that does not make the user high.

  1. We will learn of the positives about Marijuana, when big corporate america, will care more about our health then how much money they are putting in there pockets, from artificail chemicals that do more harm to our bodies then good.

  3. We lost our beloved Mom to this hideous disease. Any research,progress is a God-send. I contribute to the Alzheimer Assoc. The mountains of herb I smoked in the 60’s,70’s,and 80,s; do I have residual defense? (ha-ha).
