There is a misconception here. The doctor in the video says Boomers are the first generation to try and stay fit into old age. While we may be the first to have to use an artificial means (intentional exercise) every generation up to this point has relied on a much more rigorous lifestyle to stay fit, lots of walking, lifting, and moving.
What we are trying to discover is how to keep the body as fit as possible for as long as possible in a sedentary age.
I am not going to be as old as my parents. Their hobbies included smoking, playing cards, and alcohol drinking. I was frowned upon when I sat on the floor to watch TV! I keep on moving because, if you slow down, something will catch you…like high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney disease, arthritis, and so much more. If my parents met me now, they would think I was from a far away planet…that’s how different boomers have become!
