Four Exercises Every Runner Should Do

Sara Hall, a Stanford runner who is hoping for a shot at the 1,500 meter contest in the upcoming Olympics,
shares her thoughts about running in this inspiring piece in the New York Times.  Perhaps more importantly, Hall’s coach, Terence Mahon, shares his thought about training for running. Geezer likes the printable graphic, “Coach’s Corner,” which is impossible to link to directly, illustrating four exercises that every runner should do. Find it here.

  1. Gentlemen:
    Dear Mrs Hall:
I read with interest the article about running, especially working on your style.
In order to make the change of Mrs Hall’s running posture easier and more effctive in a shorter period of time I recommend the Feldenkrais Method(R) Of Somatic Education. The CNS (central nervous system) gets addressed very directly through hightened awareness and the changes are profound and lasting.
For more information and to find a certified practitioner nearby you may want to check the Feldenkrais(R) Guild of North America’s website, http://www.feldenkrais.com
Being a practitioner myself (GCFP) with a Master’s Degree in Sport (M.A.) I have used this powerful tool many times with huge success-in skiing, running (jogging and marathons), playing tennis, or simply functioning more efficiently.
It is all very simple: Look for the ease and the result will be powerful.
    Good luck and happy running.
    Healthy regards from Singapore/Asia,
    Renate 🙂
