Exercise Reduces Menopause Stress and Depression

U.S. News & World Report has some good news and some less good news for women of a certain age. First the good news: Researchers at Temple University have found that exercise eases the stress and reduces anxiety and depression in post-menopausal women. Now the less good news: Exercise appears to have no influence on hot flashes. The magazine reports that the Temple study, which looked at 380 women who walked between 15 and 90 minutes a day up to five times a week, found that the more people exercised the lower were their levels of perceived stress, anxiety and depression.
