America’s Fittest Cities 2008: And the Winner Is

For reasons that are less then 100 percent clear to Geezer, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM),  in partnership with the WellPoint/Anthem Blue Cross and Blue
Shield Foundation, has decided to create "an evidence- and
science-based measurement of the state of health and fitness at the
community level throughout the U.S. Communities." Whatev. Looks harmless enough. And the winning cities are:
1. San Francisco
2. Seattle
3. Boston
4. Washington D.C.
5. Atlanta

    Sounds a little to hookey to me. I stick with the great state of Colorado.

  2. I love how Houston makes both the Fattest and Fittest lists! ;D

  3. Actually, this is a pilot study of 16 of the largest US cities, so it doesn’t include Denver or San Diego, which looking at their criteria, would have ranked in the upper part.
