The Truth About Eight Glasses a Day

Once upon a time, every amateur health expert knew exactly how many glasses of water we should drink each day: eight glasses, eight ounces each, or about two liters of water. Writing in the L.A. Times, James Channing Shaw would like to dispel that myth. Shaw reports that daily fluid loss in adults is, in fact, about two liters, but all of it is replaced by normal
eating and drinking, because water is a major ingredient in
not only beverages but also nearly all foods. Shaw directs our attention to a 2002 review published in the American Journal of Epidemiology that
found no scientific studies in support of 8 x 8. It concluded that
large quantities of water are not needed and that thirst regulates
water intake quite effectively.

I agree and identify with this one Geezer. I eat a lot of fruit and berries every day. My water consumption/needs have gone down since I started this diet a few years ago. My weight and my fat percentage have also decreased considerably since I started this new eating style.
    Keep up the good work.

your body weight divided by two then divided by eight is the formula for water intake by estheticians and skin care professionals. looking young and feeling good is everyones goal these days. healthy eating habits are also beneficial. some foods and drinks may contain water, but pure water is your best source of hydration for the skin and detoxifying for the body.

  3. As a personal trainer I try to stress the importance of water. Drinking as much water as possible is always good for your body, especially when you workout.
