For years, Geezer fretted about falling behind the cutting edge of fashion, culture, and expensive fitness systems. No more. These days, one simply has to type "poised to be the next big thing" into Google and sit back and read. What’s poised to be the next big thing in fitness equipment? The Boston Globe tells us that it’s Gyrotonics (note upper case G), a machine system that uses weights and pulleys and the principles of yoga, ballet, and swimming to increase flexibility. Only three principles? Yes, but a great many dollars, and not just for the equipment. The Globe warns that Gyrotonic exercise relies mostly on a one-to-one
relationship with a trainer, making it more expensive than most group
exercise classes. Private class rates are about $65 to $80 for
an hour to 1 1/2-hour session. Still reading? Click here to read the Globe piece. To watch a video of Gyrotonics in action, click here.
