Forget about pimping your ride, now you can map your ride, walk, or run, and post it online for other cyclists, walkers and runners to enjoy. The Washington Post looks at five websites to help you do that and more.
Type a zip code into walkjogrun, and if you live in the civilized world, you’ll be presented with several running or walking loops of varying lengths. The site also invites you to add your favorite loops.
Much the same deal over at mapmyrun, but this site allows registered users to maintain a training log online.
Sanoodi, a European site, does all that and more,–the more being presentation of routes for kayaking or cross country skiing, as well as links to Flickr photos taken along the posted routes.
Cyclists will want to check out pedaling.com, a site that, unlike those above, is not powered by Google Maps, and one that lets users search by length, difficulty and environment of ride.
Finally the Post offers us getfitonroute66, a motivational site produced by the AARP, where users maintain logs of daily workouts.
