Wait. This claim could be true. Five years ago, a study of 304 English professional soccer players found that the pros had a significantly larger
ring-to-index-finger ratio than a control group of 533 other
men. Now, as reported in the Scientific American, researchers at King’s College in London have put the same test to women. The study, reported in the British Journal of Sports
Medicine, found that women with ring fingers longer than their
index fingers performed better at running and other running sports such as soccer and tennis. Is this crazy? Perhaps not. Sciam reports that other studies in men have shown the ratio of the ring
finger to the index finger can be associated with varied traits
such as sexuality, musical ability and vulnerability to certain
diseases.
