How to Stretch

Geezer knows more than a few middle-aged athletes who think that stretching is a lot like falling off a log. And Geezer thinks they are right, but for the wrong reasons. Stretching is a lot like falling off a log because it can hurt. Bad. So Geezer is pleased to pass along the advice of L.A. Times health and fitness expert Jeannine Stein, who has these three pieces of advice:
1. Stretching is not part of warm up. Warm up before stretching.
2. If you feel that a muscle is straining,  back off.
3. Consider yoga.

Thanks Geezer. This is the second time that I have THANKED you. Both times the info that you presented was a big help for me. In this case, I have been struggeling to perform an effective stretch routine before working out. This routine makes a lot of sence – and is dooable – even for an old geezer like me.
    Thanks again,
    ME
