Can You Be Both Fat and Fit?

Can you be both fat and fit? The short answer, according to a recent study conducted at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital, is NO. Researchers there looked at 11 biomarkers for cardiovascular risk in more than 27,000 healthy,
middle-aged women from the ongoing Women’s Health Study. As explained by the Washington Post, they found that being either overweight or inactive raised risk
factors for heart disease. They also found that while women at any
weight reduced their risks by exercising, being overweight appeared to
be worse than being inactive. Bottom line: Even thin couch
potatoes have lower risks than active women who were just a little
overweight.
