Runner’s World would like to remind us that, when strenghtening calves and thighs and core muscles, serious runners should also think a bit farther south. It’s the feet, stupid, and building up some arch and toe power can only move you down the road a little faster. Toward that end, the magazine recommends the Arch stretch. Here’s the drill: Sit on the floor with both legs straight. Loop a rope around one foot,
placing it beneath the ball of your foot. Gently pull back on the rope,
