Decades of careful observation have persuaded Geezer that smoking pot does not make you smarter, as was suggested by a recent medical study involving mouse brains. But now comes areport of other apparent benefits of a pot-related therapy, and this one does not contradict any of Geezer’s personal findings. A new study indicates that a chemical spray made from the active ingredients in marijuana (THC, otherwise known as delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, and CBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol) appear to ease the pain and inflammation of arthritis. The good news is that the researchers had the sense to administer the drug, called Sativex, in the evening, to minimize the risks of intoxication. The less good news, Fox News reports, is that one of the researchers is the medical director of the company that created the therapeutic spray, and two other recently received honoria from the same company. Never an indication of scientific objectivity.
