Most People Over 50 Use Alternative Medicine

Remember when alternative medicine was a young person’s preference? Those days are gone, according to a study by Ohio State University researchers. The study, conducted in 2002 and recently reported, found that 71 percent of adults over 50 used some form of alternative medicine, such as acupuncture or herbal medicine. That number compared to 62 percent of the general population. Foodconsumer.org reports that researchers suggested that older Americans turned to alternative medicine as conventional cures failed to alleviate their problems. Could be true.
