The New York Times reports that so many female sleepwear designers have reached the age of sudden night sweats that there are no fewer than five brands of women’s pajamas designed to wick away moisture. The paper points out the nifty wick-away solution is not surprising: All of the designers happen to be active and fit women, with years of experience with perspiration. Hence, Hot Mama sleepwear uses something called CoolMax, Wicking J. Sleepwear uses something called ntera, and Wildbleu uses Dri-release–three names for very similar fabrics that are finely-milled polyester designed to lift sweat from the body and allow it to evaporate quickly.
From his fairly distant perspective, Geezer likes what he sees. It definitely beats sleeping through another winter with the window open.
