One good thing about the growing popularity of Boot Camp style workouts is that they may provide some nicely-paid employment for military vets returning from distant lands. This Los Angeles-based program, for example, described in the Washington Post costs $235 for 20 weeks. Another benefit, according to "Boot Camp" instructor Barry Jay, is that the routine may just be the perfect fitness plan for people with ADD. That’s because it’s hard to not pay attention when someone is screaming in your face, or sitting on your back as you struggle to do pushups. It’s also ill-advised to miss a class, because those who fail to appear at one of Jay’s session are disciplined with more exercise at the next. The Post, attributes some of the popularity of Boot Camp workouts to their exposure on makeover TV shows. It also quotes Cedric X.
