What About Viagra For Women?

Now thimages-1at there are more than 25 pharmaceuticals to help men have better sex, is it time to offer women a little something?  About 40,000 people who signed the on online petition, Even the Score, think it is. The New York Times reports on popular (and drug industry) efforts to persuade the FDA to approve flibanserin, aimed at restoring flagging libido in women. The FDA has rejected the drug twice in the past five years, concluding that its very modest effectiveness was outweighed by side effects like sleepiness, dizziness and nausea. How big a problem is flagging libido in women? The Times reports that a survey conducted by the drug’s developer claims that about 10 percent of American women suffer from a lack of desire that causes distress. Is that a lot?
