Yoga Does Nothing For Asthma

images-1Want to know what yoga does for asthma? Relax and let go of your thoughts. That’s right: nothing. In a study published in the Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology, researchers reviewed 14 previously published studies of theĀ  effectiveness of yoga in the treatment of asthma, and came up with only “weak evidence” that it may do some good. Science Daily reports on the researchers’ conclusion: “Yoga can’t be considered a routine intervention for patients with asthma at this time. But it can be considered an alternative to breathing exercises for asthma patients interested in complementary interventions.”

I don’t agree. I do yoga and have problems breathing. When I loosen up, especially my upper back, I can always breathe easier and yes, I’m a geezer with asthma, non-smoker.
