One Glass of Wine a Day May Keep Depression Away
OK, the study was conducted in Spain, where wine may be more widely appreciated than it is in the New World, but why look for reasons to dismiss good news? HealthDay reports that a study done by health experts at the University of Navarra suggests that, while drinking a lot of wine may be a sign of depression, alcohol in moderation may improve mental health. The Spanish researchers, who followed more than 5,500 light-to-moderate drinkers for up to seven years, found that those who drank two to seven glasses a week were the least likely to suffer from depression, compared to nondrinkers.
