Another Thing Exercise Boosts: Sperm Count
File under “good news for some people”: exercise appears to improve sperm count. At least, research suggesting that connection was conducted at Massachusetts General Hospital, and looked at the exercise habits and sperm count of 137 men. HealthDay reports that different types of exercise had varying influences on sperm count, with outdoor exercise and weight lifting coming in first and second in the sperm boosting potential. Men who spent more than an hour and a half each week in physical activity outdoors had a 42 percent higher sperm concentration than those who spent no time outdoors, and weightlifters who spent two or more hours a week pumping iron had a 25 percent increase in sperm count compared to men who did not lift weights.
